Children’s Learning Opportunities

St. Joseph First UMC puts kids first!  We care deeply about helping children learn the Bible and making sure they know they are loved by God.  Our goal is to build a firm spiritual foundation that will last a lifetime.  Our dedicated teachers invest love and time in the life of each child.  We offer several programs on Sunday mornings, a Wednesday evening club during the school year, and a fun-filled week of Vacation Bible School each summer.

Sunday Kinderchapel
During 8:30 & 11:00 am worship services, in a partitioned section of the Nursery
Children ages Pre-K through Kindergarten attend worship with their family and are invited up front for the Time with Children message half-way through the service.  They are then dismissed for their very own Kinderchapel time to learn Bible stories and engage in hands-on activities like crafts and games.

Sunday Children’s Worship
During 11:00 am worship services in Room G
Children ages 1st-5th grade attend worship with their family and are invited up front for the Time with Children message half-way through the service.  They are then dismissed for an interactive worship experience with Bible story life applications.  Sometimes they re-enact the story or do impromptu skits.

Every other Wednesday, October-March, 6:00-7:15 pm
Are your kids ready to learn more about the Bible and share in fun activities with other children?  If so, Adventure Club is waiting for them!  Children are grouped by age and participate in games, snacks, crafts, and Bible stories. They enjoy a game, weekly speak out, video and team time.  They also have special celebrations throughout the year.  Kids are welcome to invite friends to join in!

Young Singers' Choir
Any singer in 4th grade and up is welcome to join this newly formed choir.  We prepare to sing for upcoming Sunday services.  Rehearsals -Every other Wednesday at 6:00 pm beginning January 18.  Contact Minister of Music Jim Kraus.
